Bound ledger book, completed in manuscript with partial index, which contains records of United States Indian Police court proceedings for the Klamath Agency from 1885 to 1895. Printed circular pasted into front of volume contains instructions from Office of Indian Affairs Commissioner E. A. Hayt for keeping accounts for the U. S. Indian Police Service. Instead the ledger was used to record names of defendants, short case summaries, and judgements. Manuscript title label mounted on front cover is "Court Proceedings 1894 to 1895" but the first and last four pages have been cut from the ledger. The first recorded cases, charging two men with using seditious language and proposing a secret counsel, are dated 1885 Oct 6. The last entry is dated 1894 Dec 6, and notes a case against nine men for malicious trespassing and criminal intercourse.
